About the Performance: We Have Only One Planet Earth is the fruit of a three-month workshop in cooperation with French Grand Persons in Iran Mall. The technique used in this play is in the continuation of activities done by “UNIMA Iran” and “Iranian Big Puppets Company” established in 2010 in Iran. Through different workshops, the puppeteers attended training courses. Now, the first generation of giant puppets are frequently seen in theatre events and even big gatherings across the country. The second generation of these giant puppets used in We Have Only One Planet have a much more complicated structure. Thanks to support by Iran Mall, the workshops continue to incorporate about one hundred people in different theatre and puppet theatre universities. This group is now able to make the second generation puppets with international standards. The puppets are now lighter in weight and more dynamic, have more aesthetic value and enjoy a built-in state-of-the-art light system. In their designing, special attention has been given to Iranian cultural and literary heritage with a focus on religious concepts. In addition, new green issues related to the environment have been considered. The play will be regularly performed on weekends at Iran Mall. Moreover, it can be performed or taught at different festivals and cultural events. This event is just one out of hundreds of artistic activities supported by Iran Mall. We thank all Iran Mall senior managers and personnel.
