43rd official poster of Fadjr Theater Festival Revealed

The poster was unveiled at a meeting of the festival's policy-making council on December 9, in the presence of council members, Nadereh Rezaei, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Culture for Arts, Atabek Naderi, Head of the General Directorate of Performing Arts, Kheyrollah Taghyanipour, artistic director of the festival, and some artists.

Emphasizing the presence of veterans in the 43rd festival, she added: Fadjr is for the artist and the people, and the people determine who they want.

The Deputy Minister of Culture for Arts stated: We have tried to take a step on the path of change and many good suggestions can be weclomed.

Rezaei called veterans to share their experience with young artists and emphasized:  I request that you come and tell the young generation about your experiences and give them hope; which is needed more than anything today. We did not want to have a showcase called the council, and your presence and other artists is effective in these circumstances.

Then, Atabek Naderi, the head of the General Directorate of Dramatic Arts Center, offered a report on the activities of center and  stated: "The plan was to revive the Other kind of performance section, which has a special perspective and is more opportunities   than many neighboring festivals. In the past two or three years, this section had almost been eliminated. The Other kind of performance section includes works that are neither street nor open-air performance; but it performed in other spaces."

He added: "This section is being held in a good way with a favorable reception under the management of Dr. Mahmoud Reza Rahimi. In this first section, the play were read and the directors were invited; the ideas were explained. In the work review section, we also saw a 50 percent increase in the number of works."

Kheyrollah Taghyanipour, the artistic director of Fadjr International Theater said: "I was at the 33rd FITF with a show named Turkey, and the main motivation for accepting the position of festival artistic director  was a situation that I had encountered at this event.."

He added: "For a long time, the festival was held for the festival, and this was a disadvantage. My concern is art, respect, and the quality of the works, and I wanted the festival to flourish."

The artistic director of the Fadjr Theater Festival stated that each day of the festival is named after a theater artists, and said: "This year, we found a 5-star hotel to house theater groups and tried to honor them."

Taghyanipour stated that 42 editions of the Fadjr Theater Festival have been held and the festival statue did not have a name, and said: "We have Simorgh at the Fajr Film Festival, and international festivals are decorated with emblems; we tried to contact Bahram Bayzai to name the statue and choose a title that is consistent with our culture. We also talked with members of Iranian Academy of Arts. We will unveil the statue in a few days and this statue will have a name."

The 43rd Fadjr International Theater Festival runs January  22 - February 1, 2025.
