95 percent of Iranian plays at the 43rd Fadjr Theater Festival

95 percent of the plays at the 43rd Fajr Theater Festival (adapted or orignial) were written by Iranian writers.

According to statistics from the Planning and Programming Unit of the General Directorate of Dramatic Arts, one of the highlights of this edition is the writers' attention to Iranian texts, with only 5 percent of the works presented at the festival being staged with foreign plays.

The statistical difference between Iranian and foreign texts that will be staged at this year's festival is so large and significant that this event can be considered a festival with Iranian and national texts.

This distinguishes this year's festival from past editions and demonstrates the directors' interest in classical Iranian texts and plays written by young and veteran writers.

According to statistics, 105 Iranian plays will be performed at the 43rd Fadjr International Theater Festival, 100 of them are written by Iranian writers and only the texts of 5 works belong to foreign writers.

Iranian plays including Now Human, Sattar Khan, Abji Mozaffar's Travelogue, and several other stories, The Names of All the Crucified Jesus, Similar to Antigone, Revelation Up Close, Particles of Chaos, and Sarai will be staged at this year's festival.
