Mihran Tomasyan: Iranian shows are respectable

The producer and actor of The Things we Carry , Mihran Tomasyan’s attended the 43rd Fadjr International Theater Festival.

This is the second time he has participated in the Fadjr Festival. The non-verbal show, The Things we Carry is designed with choreography.A co-production of Turkey and Portugal, The Things we Carry, by  Francisco Camacho has competed in International section.

 Thomasyan admires the work of Iranian artists and believes that their works are very strong and respectable in the field of form.

Mihran Thomasyan said that "The Things We Carry" is a co-production of the Turkish company Kaplan Ayaklar and the Portuguese company Ira. Francisco Camacho designed the show and our group in Turkey performed it."

 He informed that this play was also invited to one of the festivals in Portugal: "Our play was produced due to Camacho's interest in learning more about Turkish physical theater. This work is a sign of cultural and artistic interaction between countries."

  The artist added: "This play is designed and performed as non-verbal show and based on movement. This kind of show can definitely establish greater communication with other countries due to the lack of words."

Thomasyan traveled to Iran for the first time eight years ago: "I had previously attended the Fajr International Theater Festival as the designer and director of the play "You Are Not a Fish." And of course, I am familiar with the Iranian physical theater groups that perform in Turkey. The work of Iranian artists is very strong and respectable."

Presided over by writer and director Kheyrollah Taghyanipour, the 43rd Fadjr International Theater Festival is underway in Tehran until February 1,2025. For further information, please visit our website at www.fitf.theater.ir
