A Russian artist, Gulnaz Khanova on her trip to Fadjr Theater Festival

Gulnaz Khanova, a representative of the Russian street theater group, found the reception of the Iranian audience amazing and hopes they will return to Iran.

The "Light Wings" street theater group from Tatarstan, Russia, participated in the 43rd Fadjr International Theater Festival with two plays, " Etno’ and ‘Clothes’, directed by Shishkina Anna Yurievna, . The group's representative found reaction of Iranian audiences pleasant.

 

 ‘Etno’ and ‘Clothes’, directed by Shishkina Anna Yurievna, took place at the Roudaki Square as part of the festival’s outdoor section.

Referring to the story of these two street performances, Gulnaz Khanova, the representative of the Russian group, said that the show "Etno” is for the adult age group" and "Clothes" is for the children and teenagers age group, She added :we came to Iran with stories taken from the history and ancient tales of Tatarstan."

 

She went on to say: "The support and welcome of the Iranian audience is very valuable. As Mr. Atabak Naderi, Head of the General Directorate of Dramatic Arts, also said, the Iranian audience is truly the great asset of this country."

She said that before coming to Iran, they were very worried about the audience, especially for the play "Clothes." In this play, the audience had to travel a path with the group, and they were very worried about accompanying the group, but the Iranian theater audience was with them.

Khanova stated: "We are happy that our performances were successful in connecting with adult audiences and even Iranian children and teenagers. We have begun a friendship with Iranians that I hope will continue in the  next years and that we will be able to perform again in this lovely country with warm and hospitable people."

The 43rd Fadjr International Theater Festival, directed by Kheirollah Taqiyanipour, began on January 22 and ended February 01.
