A Woman Who Occupies the City/AN Interview with Narine Grigoryan Director of “Flight Upon City” from Armenia

Narine Grigoryan Director of “Flight Upon City” says I always wanted to narrate the story of a blind who suddenly gets back eyesight and sees the world.

According to public relations of 33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival, “Flight Upon City” writer of Anoush Aseley Bekian and directed by Narine Grigoryan from Armenia had its first performance on 24th January in Main Hall of City Theatre Complex.
Narine Grigoryan, director of “Flight Upon City” pointed to the forming the play and said: “Main subject of the play is getting back the eyesight of a blind. It was one of my concern and what will happen after such a big difference in life.”
She explained about set designing and performing technique of the play: “When a blind starts to see, she gets out from darkness, I also wanted to show color and movement with using the technique.”
Narine Grigoryan said that she is familiar with Iranian theatre and added: “I saw Iranian plays in Highfest of Armenia and I’m familiar with them. I think they work wonderful with all of their hard conditions and limitation they have.”
33rd Fadjr Theatre Festival with directorship of Ardeshir Salehpour will be held from 21st January to 1st February 2015.
