Absorption of Kurd Iraqi director to Persian literature

“Rioting Year” is a play of Iraqi Kurdistan written and directed by Gouran Ali Karim and participates in International part of the festival

According to Theater.ir , this play has a romantic form and at the same time talks about political and social injustice. Gouran Ali Karim explained:” We have political and social problems in Kurdistan and there is injustice like all over the world.
He said that he loves Persian literature and he explained the reason to choose “Rioting Year” of Abbas Maroufi and said:” When I read the novel, I understood it has many relations with Kurd society. Unfortunately, there are still wrong believes about marriage and has a lot of bad effects. One aspect of the play is about these wrong believes in Kurdistan and the other is to talk about war.”
He said that war is an issue which involves all the society and influence on each and every person’s life. He continued:” Like all the countries in war in middle east, war affects all people’s life but children and women are the most important victims.”
Gouran Ali karim watched “ Fellowship”, “The whisper of snow” and “Aziz Shangal” and is hopeful to invite Iraninan groups to perform in Iraq.
33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival was held from 1st to 12th Bahman in Tehran managed by Ardeshir Salehpour.
