Ghotbeddin Sadeghi Will Fight to ISIS with “Aziz-e Shangali”

Ghotbeddin Sadeghi believed that “Aziz-e Shangali” is his emotional narrative of himself of the death of a child named Aziz during ISIS attack to north of Iraq.

According to public relations of 33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival, Ghotbeddin Sadeghi who participated in Guest Section of this edition of the festival talked about “Aziz-e Shangali” : “I wanted to perform the play outdoor but as we have 61 actors and now its winter it was hard to do it so I accept the offer of Ardeshir Salehpour to be participated in Guest Section.”
“The play is based on a true story. Aziz is a five-years-old child who became wanderer because of ISIS attack to Shangal region of Iraq so after falling apart from his family and wondering in deserts for five full days he became blind because of thirstiness and he light of sun and finally died.” He explained about the story of “Aziz-e Shangali”.
The director pointed that “Aziz-e Shangali” is a work without narrative and added: “The play has no dialogue or narrator and all of ot is performed by music, movement and group images. The play is the painful tragedy from the p.o.v of children and women in the war.”
Sadeghi explained about his motivation of performing the play: “I believe that the greatest victims of a war are women and children. The play has an emotional and aesthetic interpretation of our today humanistic problems. Is it possible that we ignore such a big tragedy which is anti-religion and anti-human being by ISIS?”
