Niavaran amphitheater was build in 1969 and at frst was operated under the supervision of Iran national radio and television organization and since 1978, was assigned to Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Shahroo Kheradmand and Iraj Zahri were in charge in this amphitheater before Islamic revolution. At present Niavaran Cultural Center has
two large halls for theater performance and is one of the Tehran’s active theatrical centers and sometimes arranges some festivals like international Pantomime and Playwright recit-
ing Festival. This complex in addition to offcial and management rooms has a library and a restaurant. It is also possible to arrange art exhibitions there.
