Sometimes, juggler and circus groups performed in open space of this boarding.At present, City theater complex with its circular building which is one of Iran’s architectural masterworks is the most important theatrical complex of Iran. Construction of 
this complex was started under supervision and planning of Sardar Afkhami (Engineer) in 1967 and was inaugurated on 28th of January,1973. This governmental complex was oper-
ated under the supervision of “Celebration and Art Organiza tion” and then “Iran National Radio and Television Organization” and “Iran and America Community), after revolution’s 
victory its operation was assigned to “Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance” with the Revolution’s council’s edict in 1980. Initially, the complex was defned for its main hall, 
gradually personnel and audience parking lot and some stores and training halls was used as play halls with some alterations. The complex’s halls consist of the Main (ground foor), 
Chahar Soo, Sayeh, Qashqayi, No (New) and workshop Hall (basement). The complex was renovated in 2007. Ali Raf’ee, Nader Khoshdel, Fereydoun Aliyari, Majid Jafari, Hossein 
Pakdel, Hossein Parsayi, Mohammad Khabari and Mehrdad Rayani Makhsoud were mangers of this complex so far and at present Mohammad Heidari is in charge. The complex con-
sists of light, sound, Make-up, carpentry workroom, painting workroom, metal décor workroom, tailoring, décor transport, garments archive, stage, store, bookshop, prearrangement, 
services, cafeteria, phone operation room, heating and cooling facilities, electricity, technical management, public relation, preservation, halls management, coordination, ticket 
kiosk, and complex management. Professional library and center of dramatic arts documents are city theater’s other facilities which were built in hall No.3 in 1987. This Center is 
the only library and Center of dramatic arts documents of the country which was arranged by Mansour Khalaj.

Main Hall
This hall consists of two stations for audience, ground 
foor and balcony. There are two entrances and two exits 
which audience can access cafeteria and bookshop which are 
in the basement. Four lavatories, four make-up rooms and 
dressing rooms and two other lavatories for performers are 
other facilities of this hall. Dressing rooms can be accessed 
by two stairs and elevators from backstage.
