German director feeling surprised of Iranian Theater’s Modernity

Felix Mathias Ott, the German director of “Odyssey Complex” felt surprised of the modern and pioneer culture of Iranian Theater

According to public relations of 33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival, “Odyssey Complex” written and directed by Felix Mathias Ott from Germany has been on stage on the 2nd and 3rd day of 33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival in Iranshahr Hall and the audience liked it very much.
At the end of the second performance, Felix Mathias Ott implied that the root of legends and ancient stories are the same around the world and explained why he chose Odyssey story and said:” I chose this story for many reasons. Firstly, Odyssey like other myths in the world, has global issues and problems and in my opinion all the people can communicate with these issues and problem. Secondly, this was my first experience of directing and I wanted to begin with the first theatrical text in Europe. Thirdly, all of us like odyssey are in the individual and unique journey. We all understand this attempt to find the way and return home.”
It was the first time to be in Iran for Felix Mathias Ott, so he was very surprised of the audience in our country and he said that he did not imagine how modern and pioneer Iranian theater is.
33rd Fadjr International Theater Festival was held from 1st to 12th Bahman in Tehran managed by Ardeshir Salehpour
