31st Fadjr International Theatre Festival
Enthusiastic Welcome to “Gilgamesh” at Aav Theatre Hall

The play “Gilgamesh”, directed by Babak Mehri and written by a group of playwrights, will be staged during 31st Fadjr Theatre Festival.
Babak Mehri explained that the rehearsal of “Gilgamesh” was started after the call for actors and the registration of volunteers, and said: “In last two months, acting and performing process have been done along with the completion of writing the play in a way of playwright workshop”, according to the News Headquarter of Fadjr Festival.
He added: “The main idea and structure of the play are based on the legendary figure of “Gilgamesh”, and the story will not focus on scenery but on the ambience and atmosphere of performance.”
He regards “Gilgamesh” as an amusing figure, and said: “the subject of immortality in this epic is a universal matter.”
Babak Mehri also reminded that “for the first time in Iran theatre history, the performance (Gilgamesh) helps a private hall to stage a play independently and also experience a great welcome by audience.”
Soheila Ghods-Tinat (Head of Playwrights), Elpida Soltani (Movements Designer and Choreographer), and Samira Tang-Shir as the Pubic Relation are among this troupe.
This play had been staged before in Oct and Nov at Aav Theatre Hall, and will be on stage until Jan 27 at Fadjr Festival.
The 31st Fadjr International Theatre Festival has begun since Jan 15 and will continue until Jan 31.
