Australian “DesdeMONA” at Fadjr Theatre Festival

Written by Jolanta Juszkiewicz and directed by Anatoly Frusin from Australia, “DesdeMONA” will be staged at Fadjr Theatre Festival.
According to the News Headquarters of 31st Fadjr International Theatre Festival, “DesdeMona”, a performance by “Kropka Theatre” Troupe, is scheduled to be staged for 50 minutes. This play is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic and symbolism tale “Othello” focusing on concepts such as love, insanity, and destruction. It is a revised and strong version of Othello.
Jolanta Juszkiewicz, the only actress and writer of the play, is Polish. She has a Master of Fine Arts in stage Playwriting and Theatre Arts. She has established the “Kropka Theatre” group since 1997 in Sydney. In her group, she uses the illustrative and literary elements of the theatre along with visual arts and movement in a poetic drama full of metaphors. She has won many awards from different countries such as Albania, Belgium, Armenia, France, Sweden, and England.
Anatoly Frusin, the director of the play, was born in 1966 in Tajikistan with a Master of Fine Arts degree in English Literature from University of Okland. His performances include a variety of works including “Agaemnon”, “The Little Cherry Orchad”, “Antigone” and “The House of Bernard Alba”.
The 31st Fadjr International Theatre Festival will be held from January15 through January 31, by Saeed KeshanFallah as the secretary of the festival, in Tehran and five other provinces.
