reports of religious plays in Iran
Tend to Finding Truth

Mehdi Nasiri: It is clear that theater has come from religious ceremonies, but it is obvious that it is now completely free from those primary traditional ceremonies.
Theater has always been affected by religion, directly and indirectly. This is the same in our country too. but we have to see which of these two ways is more successful in connecting audience, which is more close to Theater and finally we have to see that if we have religious Theater in our country as a gender or not?!
Tending to indirect narrative
Mehrdad Rayani Makhsos (Theater director, writer and trainer) says: when we talk about religious Theater, we have to clear our severance reasons because when we say this is religious Theater, it means the other kind is not. I am not agreed with this and I think it is better to ask if human matters are pointed in these plays or not? I think all the Theaters which point to some human features like; morality, truth, guilt and … are religious ones because all these features are those which are pointed in religion.
Art is God’s word
Azam Borojerdi (Theater director, writer and trainer) believes we don’t have to separate religious Theater from Art and says: All the arts are religious and God’s word! So we can’t separate a part of it from other parts. When we talk about devil acts, bad and good and … acutely we are pointing religious part of them. So we can’t divide Art from religion.
Tazieh is a Religion
Aiob Aghakhani, Theater director, writer and trainer says: unfortunately our religious works hasn’t been deep enough so far to attract people. He adds: I don’t consider Tazieh as a perfect Theater. Tazieh is a Religion play or a play Religion and I don’t accept it as Theater.
Our Religion Theater is Tazieh
Ghotbeddin Sadeghi (Theater director, writer and trainer) believes our Religion Theater is Tazieh. He believes Tazieh is one of the most perfect and attractive plays in the word. He says: Tazieh is a very good play; it has all the dramatic features. It is a popular play which has thousands of audience whenever it performs.
We need Knowledge
Mehrdad Abrovan (a member of National Club of Critics and Theater trainer) says: I can say that we have religious Theater. It is seriously considered from 1978 (Iamic Revolution of Iran) till now. He continues: our Religion Theater is still experiencing and is learning. I recommend those who are working in this field to vast their knowledge.
The main part of Iranian Theater is religion
Kataion FEiz Marandi (Stage designer and Theater director and trainer) says: the Theater that is involved with religion cases is a religious Theater. The base of Iranian Theater is religion and Tazieh is the most significant one that contains religious cases directly.
I am against partitions
Azita Hajian (Theater director and actress) says: I think Theater is Theater and we don’t have to divide it to specific fields. When you say religious Theater, it means there is unreligious Theater that is wrong
