A report about play "Clouds behind Larynx" by Reza Gouran
Workshop, a manner for achieving a new experience
Reza Gouran started writing the piece about 7 month ago with the presentence of the cast. But after changing some of them he faced some problems. He prefers workshop for practicing but he had to make the play ready for the selection committee deadline.
He says sometimes you have to get ready in a short time and there is no other ways and this will happen for everyone.
Cloud Behind Larynx is practicing with Mahdi Pakdel, Shahram Haghighat Doost,Behnoush Tabatabaee,Neda Maghsoudi and Kaveh Ghaemi. All of the cast have had another experience with this group except Shahram Haghighat Doost. Reza Gouran explained that this play is in resumption of the previous plays of Yerma group. But this time we have some changes which audiences should recognize them.
The piece, Mariana Pineda was written by Federico Garcia Lorca in June 1927 which is not as popular as the other texts of Lorca in Iran. So that Gouran had more freedom to change some details on his own play. He had decided to emphasize on his personal style to make audiences excited about his group. He changed the time of the story and the conversations in appropriate. The characters are the Lorca’s piece and Gouran had worked on them.
Golnaz Golashan is the clothes designer of this play. She had designed clothes specifically for each actor and colorfull unlike the other works of Yerma group.
Arash Gouran, Reza Gouran’s brother, is the composer and it is almost ready to play.
Reza Gouran is really unhappy about the lightning of the theater saloons and he think there is not enough facilities for having a good and impressive lightning. Although we have to adapt our lightning depend on the saloon’s projectors.
Reza Gouran had directed “I Want to sleep”,”Yerma”, and “The Story of Escalator“. Last year he directed “Man is the Man” with polish cast in Amsterdam.
