“1+1” the First Step towards Future Cooperation in Iran

Guglielmo says the performance “1+1” is the first step of Iran, Italy joint performance that is happening at the time of 31st Fadjr International Theatre Festival, and he hopes they can have such cooperation in the future.
According to News Headquarter of Festival, he explained he had first found Iran’ theatre and art interesting while attending the Hamedan International Theatre Festival for Children and Young Adults, and said: “Iranian theatre includes both modern and classic art and comprises the traditional and cultural elements in theatre.”
He believes Iran’s drama art is passionate and said: “Speaking of emotions Iranians are strong and kind.”
Based on Guglielmo the goal of performing “1+1” is “cultural exchange”, and said: “This jointly directed performance is a movement towards more understanding of both countries’ theatre. I am glad to be introduced to Omid Niaz and have such cooperation.” He loves Iran and is willing to have other performances in collaboration with Iranian troupe, and added: “having a group action between two countries necessitates a suitable condition. I really want to perform such collaborations, and “1+1” is the first step towards future joint Iran and Italy performances.”
He also mentioned “It is my honor to have one of the most famous and professional Italian composers, Tiziano Popoli, accompanying us in this performance.”
As a well-known Italian director and actor, Guglielmo Papa, has staged a variety of performances including “Goccioline” and “Tempesta” in countries such as America, England, Italy, and so on.
The performance “1+1” is written and directed jointly by Guglielmo Papa and the Iranian stage artist, Omid Niaz, and it was staged on Monday (January 28) at Sayeh Hall in City Theatre Complex of Tehran.
